World peace pagoda Located on a hill just above the famous lake Fewa facing Mount Fishtail. It is one of the tourist attractions in Pokhara which is built recently. The Stupa offers a great place to see the sun set over Pokhara and panoramic himalaya of Annapurna and Fishtail. It can be accessed by hiring a boat and rowing across the lake and climbing for about 20 minutes, or by trekking from the road that passes Devi Falls. Depending upon your requirement, this trip can be done in half day to full day excursion.
A very scenic drive of about 30 minutes takes you past Pokhara to where you start your day hike, this place is called Phedi. You ascend through beautiful farmland as you make your way to the village of Dhampus. There are absolutely stunning views of Machapuchare, made all the more beautiful by the rural scene in front of fields of corn and wheat, small villages and women in brightly coloured saris. Trek further to Kande which is about one and half hour where transport would be waiting, tranfer to hotel at Pokhara (45 minutes).
It is another enchanting hill north of Pokhara and takes about two and a half hours to reach from Mahendrapul downtown. The trail starts acrossing the newly built bridge at Seti Power house (Narayanthan) and from near the army barrck at Phulbari accross Mahendrapul and climbs slowly up a slope. The essential view from top of this hill is the panoramic view of Annapurna range and the flat span of Pokhara valley.
It is the closest viewpoint near Pokhara city. The drive to Bindabasini temple is about 10 minutes from the lake area where most tourist hotels are located. The track is along the road that starts from the temple and goes half way to the top. The ridge top is about 3-hour uphill walk. From the end of the road it is about an hour walk. There is a view tower at the top and few teashops for refreshment.
Follow the trail to Sarankot and walk further on the Kaski ridge to Naudanda. It is a large Gurung village, which has become important junction for travelers. There are several lodges and teahouses. The walk along the ridge is a nice and easy all the way to Naudanda. You can see beautiful view of Phewa lake and Pokhara City to the south. Drive back to Pokhara. There is superb view of Annapurna range, particularly Machapuchare (Fishtail peak).
