Lower Dolpo Trekking bids you one of the outstanding trekking experience in the remote western region of Nepal. For trekkers, it was opened only from 1982. The main highlight point of this trekking is Shey Phoksundu Lake. Lower Dolpa region is situated inside the Shey Phoksundu National Park of mid-western Nepal behind the Dhaulagiri massif at the altitude 8172 meters & 26811 feet to the Tibetan plateau. According to the myth - this concealed gorge was created by Guru Rimpoche for the Buddhists followers to take refuge when they are in trouble.

Lower Dolpo trekking has an exciting feature and that is - the path goes through the three high passes – Kagmara La (5115 meters, Baga La (5090 meters) and Numa La (5360 meters).

This trekking trail goes by the side of the almighty Phoksundo Lake which is blue in color and one of the deepest lake of Nepal with surrounding snow peaks of Kanjiroba Himal. Here we set our tent and halt our night and enjoy with enough time to get picturesque perfect views. Also, on the trial - you get to observe one of the secluded Buddhist monastery (the traditional culture of Karnali region) and abundant rare and endangered species of wild lives like blue sheep, mountain goat, jackal, Himalayan Thar, rare monkeys, wolves and snow leopard, and varieties of plants. The other main attractions of this lower Dolpo Trek is you can see the yak caravans in the summer season where the Tibetan folks bring down the yak from the higher altitude to the lower land for grazing. Beautiful flora of this region can be perceived like blue pine, cypress, poplar, spruce, deodar, fir, and birch.

Lower Dolpo Trekking sets off from Juphal and also ends at Juphal. The path is a soberly arduous walk alongside the subordinate area of Dolpo. Shey Phoksundo Lake is the deepest Lake of Nepal located at the altitude of 3611.5 meters on this region. The cultural traditions of this area are basically linked with Tibetan because most of the people here migrated from Tibet and basically follow the Buddhists culture.

A physically fit person can do this trip anytime in the month of April to October but after October the path can be a bit risky as the passes are covered with snow.Redrose Travel delivers this trek according to your vacation schedule with skilled guided and qualified trek leaders focusing on your “safety” as the main priority.
